This fallen tree from one of many charred landscapes is appropriated and reconstructed to reflect ephemeral and geological implication. Neatly arranged rows and columns of cubes mirroring human built landscapes provide a division of nature vs human aesthetic. Organic, curvilinear forms of tree growth juxtapose geometric and angular edges in a dissolving assemblage of fragmentation. This flattening of Nature into compartmentalized parcels rearranges time as a confused collective sequence of units, rather than a complete form. The terms of eco-aestheticism involved in creation of my work symbolizes necessity for reintroducing relationships between humans and Nature.
